A few speedpaintings/studies from few days ago

While warming up for work I usually do a quick study/speedpainting, this one took me an hour.

[captain nazi]

First off, let it be clear that I'm not a Nazi, nor do I support their ideology :)
So I had this idea of captain Nazi which is an evil counterpart of captain america. I started drawing him and the rest just followed. While searching for some references I found out that there already was a Captain Nazi, so I was kinda disappointed, but I liked my vision better as it's slightliy less gay then DC version. I fucked up the perspective, the characters look stiff and unnatural, the inks are messier then I aimed for :( But I'll do better next time, I'm just glad I didn't rush anywhere and took my time to finish this.
Also, I don't have anything against jews.

While I was doing some final details, coloring the comic page the other day, I realized the sun was already coming up so I stared at it for a while to memorize the colours :D
So no references, straight as I remember it, without hue/saturation or color balance adjustments so I'm kinda happy the way it turned out.

[Some Concepts]

No pencil, the blue lines are done with fabric marker (the closest thing to technical transparent ones I could find here in Zagreb) and the black is a regular Faber-Castell marker... I find this way of drawing very smooth and fluid, I think I'll experiment a bit more with this :)
The blue fabric marker is great to lay out the general form of a drawing on paper while keeping it transparent and loose, I almost like it more than blue pencil!

I was too lazy to draw something so I painted this over Talaja's lines from the comic we're working on.

I used a bit different approach while coloring this one, using a 4 color-palette instead of picking from the color wheel everytime as I usually do. I like the result, everything looks more harmonious.

Very often while I'm out I like to study the sky, ambiental light and how it interacts with the things around me... then when I come home I like to do studies like these and put into practice the stuff I observed :)
Took me around two hours for these two.

Just some random character for practice. Inks came out pretty shabby, I must stop inking while I'm nervous x_x

Two more sketches from halloween series! I'm experimenting a bit with a different colouring process, first do the black-and-white underpainting then color layer above. I like the results, It's easier to set correct values, colours look limited but still do their job :)

Finally a finished illustration! I've been working on this picture for the last few months, when I actually got the time to do a bit of work. It's supposed to be a cd cover, hope you guys like it cos I'm quite satisfied with the result.

So, I haven't posted in a while. I started feeling exhausted and having headaches a month or so ago, when I found out that I had mononucleosis. Yeah, bummer. So I had to stay in house for a month and a half, laying around and generally do nothing. Sounds like fun, but it gets frustrating after a week. :(
Fortunately, the doctor yesterday said I'm getting back in shape and I can go on with my normal life. *yatta!*
Here's some stuff I was playing around when I felt like opening photoshop.

I'm having fun inking with brushpen, some corrections in Photoshop. Finally going home for a few days, yay!
